THE INTERNET

THE INTERNET
You have heard a lot in praise of the internet a lot of good have been said about the internet : it allows people all over the world to communicate easily and it provides you with all kinds of information. As you are interested, you would like to start to be involved in it but you do not know how to start.
The first thing you need is computer. Those with Pentium processor would be nice, but a 486 is enough. An IBM compatible or a Macintosh will do, but must be equipped with a modem. The higher the modem speed, the better. The minimum is 14,1 kbps (kilobytes per second)
You need a telephone line. If you don’t at have one at home, you might too be able to use the one at the office (naturally with the remission of your boss). This will be your connection to cyberspace.
After you have all of the equipment, you need to contact an internet Service Provider (ISP). Since 1994, the government has issued business licenses for 40 ISP in Indonesian. Some of them like the ones operated by IPTEK-NET and the institute of the Technology Bandung, are not for commercial use.
Most of the ISPs operate in Jakarta, but some offer services in several other cities. PT Pos Indonesia, the state company which runs mail offices nation wide, provides services in 31 cities in the country’s 27 provinces. If you can’t find an ISP in your town, this does not necessarily mean that you have to pay more for the internet. You will be able to venture into Cyberspace, but you will have to pay more for the phone bills. This depends not only on how long you use the phone, but also how far the closest ISP office is for your place.

MUSLIM WEDDING

MUSLIM WEDDING
Perhaps at this point should remember that Indonesia wedding very according to religions, culture and social position of the family. In addition, the family must serect a program that is compromised between the moslim religious tradition and javanese cultural tradition therefore, in setting out to describe a “typical wedding”, I am attempting to describe something that really doesn’t exist. Still, presume we are talking about a Moslem wedding and that at lest one of the coupre comes from west java.
At a mosque wedding, the bride enters the hail some time before her husband, and her female relation will sit with her waiting his arrival. As guest, you quickly notice the importance or traditional attire to the ceremony. The bride will almost certainly be in formal Javanese dress of batik sarong and kebaya. brides from west java will be in white, those from central java and east java, in black. Many hours will have been spent on bride’s hair and make up and the young women of then looks as if they stepeed straight out of some historical drama. Indeed it is amazing the grooms even recognize them.
As the groom arrives he is escorted by close relatives to join this wife at the low table placed between them and the penghulu who conducts the weeding. He is a minister of the mosque whose special duties cover areas such as marriage, divorces, wills and oaths. The penghulu will read the section of the holy Qur’an concerning marriage, talk informally about the couples responsibility to each other and the importance of children.
There will be two official fitness who are high ranking male representative of each family. The will fitness the signing of the ijab qobul, a document based on the Al Qur’an which outlines the duties and responsibilities of the couple.

WAR VICTIMS

WAR VICTIMS
People hate war because it is terrible. It cost much just for damaging buildings and killing innocent people. War is basically caused by the arrogant people who want to destroy or conquer other. Tribes have fought againt tribes, one nation against those of other religion, etc.
Sometimes war is coused by a desire for more land, wealth, power, or security. It is still fresh in our mind what happened during the World War II, the Indonesian independent War,and the Vietnam War. Although the three are based on different background, actually they are not expected.
The result of War is clear, great loss, and victims suffered by both, the conquerous and the defeat. Although very dangerous and unfortunate, the Indonesian independent War is a must because the Indonesian struggled for freedom. Whit their high spirit and armed with bamboo spear Indonesian freedom fighters succeeded to conquer the dutch, the colonizer. Great loss and victims are of course unavoidable. Thousands of disabled soldiers and dead people including civilians killed during the war are unexpected result.

EFFECTS OF URBANIZATION

EFFECTS OF URBANIZATION
Lost of young village abandoned their home village and move to big cities. One who graduated from universities feels that village is not the place where he can advance his knowledge, science and ability. The other considers that being a villager will only become a farmer or a peasant who harvest his crops only two or three times a year while some others believe that being citizens will heighten their status, prestige and dignity. Above all, cities have dozens of attraction like amusements centers, sport stadium, shopping malls, various kinds of jobs , other facilities. Living in cities ones will earn more money than what they can do in villages, there for, cities are their target.
It has been proved that moving to cities or urbanization creates problems. The incessant problems are suffered by citizens who live in big cities like Jakarta, Surabaya, bandung, etc. they are pollution, crimes, and other social problems. Citizens who live in elite housing complex tend to be selfish and those who live in ghettos or slum areas are easy to be provoked to make disturances. The haves pollute the city with the emission of their cars, whereas the have-nots scatter garbage and dirty their residence because they are not accustomet to cleanliness and healthiness.
Crime is a problem that threatens the citizen. Theft snatching, robbery, murder, suicide, and rape are cases that happen almost every day many criminal have been arrested and jailed, ironically, the crimes become more and more violent and arbitrary, it is undouptadly suffered by citizens. Visitor and urbanites themselves.

HOW MONEY IS DEVELOPED

HOW MONEY IS DEVELOPED

Money is used as medium of exchange people will use it for paying something they buy or service they get. Long before money is used, people traded their goods directly for other goods. Such trading is called barter. This is not practical because they found difficulties when they wanted something they needed but they did not have things sultable for the barter.
The first money people used where beads, cocoa, beans, salt, shells, stones, tobacco, cloth, and animals hides. Then metals such as cooper, silver, and gold were used to replace them. These metals where more convenient than the first things because they could be easily shaped and carried.
Today people use money which consists of coins and paper. The fist coins were made in Lidya an ancient country wich is now the western Turkey, during 600B.C many countries saw that coins where advantages and they begin to make their own coins.
As early as 1100B.C chinese used miniature bronze tools as medium of exchange whit were development into coins. They began to use paper money during the A.D. 600’s. until the 1600’s Europeans did not adopt the use of paper money although marco polo, an Italian trade who was amazed of the use of paper money insead of coins in china, brought this message to them. In 1800’s most of the paper money was issued by bank of private companies. Now government and central bank take over the issuing of banknotes.
